Itinerary

Day 1 Departure

Board you overnight transatlantic flight to London. Dinner and breakfast served aloft with choice of movies for you flight.

Day 2 Windsor

You'll be greeted as you exit the Customs Hall. It's a short drive to our hotel in Royal Windsor. Time for exploration on your own, a visit to Windsor Castle, home of the British Royal family for 900 years. You can visit the State Apartments and perhaps Windsor Great Park. Dinner this evening at your hotel.

Day 3 Arundel

We travel across the beautiful Sussex Downs to the seaside resort of Brighton, time on your own to explore this Victorian resort and have lunch (not included). This afternoon we'll visit Firle Place, the ancestral home of General Sir Thomas Cage. We continue to the Norfolk Arms Hotel, a Georgian coaching Inn in Arundel in time for dinner.

Day 4 Salisbury

A morning visit to Arundel Castle, seat of the Duke of Norfolk. Though it retains the form and design of a medieval castle, it is famous for its Tudor furnishings and art treasures. Then we cross the south coast for the ancient Saxon capital of Winchester. There will be time to explore the cobbled streets and visit historic Winchester Cathedral and the Great Hall. We continue to the White Hart hotel in medieval Salisbury in time for dinner.

Day 5 Salisbury

Today takes us first to Stourhead the "Flagship of the National Trust" and is the classic example of 18th century landscape gardens. After a country pub lunch we return to Salisbury and have a guided tour of the 13th century cathedral with the tallest spire and the largest cathedral close in England. Dinner on your own this evening.

Day 6 Salisbury

We head for the New Forest this morning, where wild ponies roam the open moors, gorse covered health and wooded glades. A visit to Kingston Lacy, designed by Sir Roger Pratt and acclaimed for its impressive collection of paintings. We return to Salisbury with time for shopping or exploring the city. Dinner at our hotel this evening.

Day 7 London

We travel Northeast to Surrey and the Royal Horticultural Society gardens at Wisely. The panoply of garden types are highlighted in Wesley's 200 acres, amidst a calendar of experimental gardens. After lunch we continue to our London hotel mid afternoon. The rest of the day is on your own, perhaps an evening at the theatre or sample one of the many fine restaurants London has to offer.

Day 8 London

Today is your day in London. There will be more you want to do than you will have time for. Shopping on Regent Street, a boat ride on the River Thames, perhaps to Greenwich, or a visit to the Wallace Collection. This evening is also free to follow your own adventures.

Day 9 Departure

This morning we transfer to the airport for your return flight home. We would be pleased to make arrangements for you to stay a few more days.
